Things to do for the foodie -Restaurants by boat:
Carefree Boat Club Virginia Beach is just minutes from docking at 8+ waterside restaurants in 3 different marinas. Chick’s Oyster Bar, Back Deck, Bubba’s, Surfrider, Il Giardino’s, and more… There are plenty of restaurants in Rudee Inlet, Cape Charles, Eastern Shore, Hampton, Smithfield, Suffolk, Norfolk, Coinjock; all within a leisurely boating day or less.
Things to do for the athletes – Fun boating watersports:
Broad Bay is about 9 minutes down the Lynnhaven River. Once you hit the end of the No Wake Zone you are in Broad Bay and off to fun! Broad Bay which leads into Linkhorn Bay are the area where you will find boaters’ enjoying a variety of watersports: wakeboarding, tubing, and water skiing. Chick’s Beach just outside on the Chesapeake Bay is also a favorite for watersports and swimming.
Things to do when you don’t want to do anything – A day of relaxing on the water:
Just Relax! There are 100’s of coves in Broad Bay and Linkhorn Bay to anchor your boat and get away from it all. Take the day and head to Cape Charles or Fisherman’s Island. Beach the boat at The Narrows or Ocean Paradise Club. It’s no secret that anywhere on the water can be relaxing.
Things to do for the nature lover – Dolphins, Whales, and Wildlife Watching:
Virginia Beach is the largest concentration of juvenile dolphins on the East Coast. Boaters can see them in any of the water ways. Larger pods of 20 to 100 can be seen out on the Lower Chesapeake or just off the oceanfront. October through April the whales including Humpback Whales make their annual appearance. Whales have been spotted in Hampton and along the Chesapeake Bay Bridge Tunnel as well as in the lower Chesapeake and off the oceanfront. Sea lions, otters, a plethora of waterfowl and more can be see while explore the 35+ miles of just beachfront alone!
Things to do for the fishing enthusiast:
Fishing is another place that highlights Virginia Beach and Coastal Virginia. The Chesapeake Bay Bridge Tunnel is considered one of the best man made reefs in the world! Fishing is a year-round sport. Flounder, Cobia, Spot, Drum, Rockfish, Bluefin and more! Carefree Boat Club Virginia Beach and Hampton keep the fishing license on the boat, so all of our members and their guests are licensed to saltwater fish. Carefree Boat Club’s boats are 17’ – 27’ perfect for recreational inshore saltwater fishing. If you are wanting to go offshore fishing you will need a bigger boat. Call us for a list of local head boats, charter fishing captains and boats that you can hire.
All the above can be done in a day or less of boating. Carefree Boat Club members can enjoy the flexibility of boating all day, part of the day, overnight, early mornings, sunset cruises or maybe just slip out for an hour or two.
