FAQs
Being the only club of its kind with a premier presence in Cape May County, we are asked many questions about how a membership to Carefree Boat Club works. We’ve attempted to answer all your questions here — if we missed anything feel free to give us a call.
WHAT SIZE BOATS WILL I HAVE ACCESS TO?
- Our current fleet of boats ranges from 20'-26' as well as four Sea Doo GTI 130 personal water-crafts.
- You will have access to a first class fleet of new Jet Skis, Bow-riders,
Water Sport boats, Pontoons, and Fishing boats including 26' center console with twin outboards. - All boats in the fleet are kept anywhere from 1-3 years
before replacing them with brand new models.
We encourage you to stop by anytime to see the quality of our boats firsthand. Please reach out if you would like a tour of the club!
IS THERE A LIMIT TO HOW MANY TIMES I CAN BOAT PER YEAR?
NO. Members have Unlimited access to boats. Boat as much as you like.
WILL I GET ANY TRAINING?
YES. Members receive free, unlimited “On the Water” training with our National Safe Boating Council Certified staff. Training covers navigation, docking,
anchoring, local waterways, and safety. We specialize in helping members with no experience become comfortable and confident boaters.
CAN I USE OTHER CAREFREE LOCATIONS WITH MY MEMBERSHIP
Members may also reserve boats up to 3 times a year at each of our 88+ Carefree Boat Club locations around the country & internationally — all included in membership. New locations are constantly being added. Check our locations page for updates to the list of cities with Carefree Boat Clubs.
DO YOU HAVE FULL TIME STAFF?
YES. Our valet dock staff rolls out the red carpet for our members, helping you load yourselves and your gear onto
the boats, answering any questions and providing you with local boating tips. Upon return, we help you off the boats and back out to your car. Leave the cleaning for us. Boating doesn’t get any easier than this.
DO YOU HAVE MEMBER SOCIAL EVENTS?
We will be offering members a variety of social events including barbecues, boat parades, boating seminars, and more. Members will be notified of future events and boating seminars as they are scheduled.
HOW DO I RESERVE A BOAT?
Each Member can always have up to 4 reservations on the calendar at any time. Reservations can be made online up to 6 months in advance by logging in to RESNET, our proprietary online reservation system, from any computer or mobile device.
You can also boat "spur of the moment". Even if you do not have a reservation you can call us anytime and if a boat is available it is yours to come use.
CAN I CALL ON THE SAME DAY TO GET A BOAT?
Yes. Simply call the dock staff to find what’s available for “Spur of the Moment” use. Spur of the Moment use does not count as a reservation.
HOW DO I KNOW I WILL GET A BOAT?
Carefree Boat Club has been making boats available to members for more than 15 years. With locations all over the
country, we track boat usage by type and location, and can predict with accuracy when a boat needs to be added, or when we need to cap memberships. As the premier nationwide boating club, we understand the importance of boat availability. Ask to see our reservation system to see availability for yourself anytime!
CAN NON-MEMBERS RENT YOUR BOATS?
No. We have a private fleet of new boats for the exclusive use of our members, and our boats are never for rent. Carefree Boat Club prides itself on both the quality and excellent condition of our fleet, as well as maximizing boat availability for our members.
HOW MUCH DOES IT COST?
A membership to our club is structured like joining a gym or country club. Members pay a one time initiation fee and an ongoing monthly fee.
We have 3 Membership options depending on what you want access to.
Please call 609-388-9009 or come visit us to learn more about our current membership availability.
WHAT DO I PAY FOR WHEN I BOAT EACH TIME?
You only pay for the fuel you consume.
WILL MY DUES INCREASE YEAR TO YEAR?
The dues amount is locked in for the term of membership. Dues are billed monthly or annually.
IS INSURANCE INCLUDED WITH MEMBERSHIP?
YES. Insurance is included. CBC maintains insurance that covers vessels, members, and guests.
