WHAT SIZE BOATS WILL I HAVE ACCESS TO?

All boats ranging from 17’ to 27’ are available to CBC members.  Variety includes Deck boats, Fishing boats, Pontoons, Cruisers, Sailboats, and water sports boats.  Members choose the boat they need when making reservations.  Excludes boats from other premier clubs offered by Carefree Boats

WILL I GET ANY TRAINING?

Yes.  All members get a “Boat Georgia” training manual upon joining.  After training, members call to schedule a boat for “On the Water” training with the dock master.  Training covers CBC processes, general navigation, docking, and safety.  A separate “On the Water” training is done on cruisers to practice docking and learn overnight processes.

 HOW SOON CAN I GET ON THE WATER AFTER JOINING?

After joining, new members can normally be boating within 2 to 5 days of joining, depending on skill level.

 HOW DO I RESERVE A BOAT?

Reservations may be made from 2 days notice to as much as 6 months in advance.  Upon joining, every member is setup with an account to access our online reservation system, ResNet. Simply logon at http://lakelanier.reservemyboat.com/, and make your reservation. If you need assistance you may also call The Members Only Reservation line Monday through Friday between 9 a.m and 2 p.m. and our Reservationist will be happy to assist you.

 HOW MANY RESERVATIONS CAN I HAVE AT ONE TIME?

To maintain availability for all members, members may have a maximum of four advanced reservations on the books at any given time.  Once a reservation is used, a new one may be made.  Two may be on weekend and two may be on weekday.

 CAN I CALL ON THE SAME DAY TO GET A BOAT?

Yes.  Simply call the dock master at the marina you wish to boat.  The dock master will tell you what’s available and you reserve it for “Spur of the Moment” use.  Spur of the Moment use does not count as reservations.  It is similar to a “walk on” round of golf.

HOW DO I KNOW I WILL GET A BOAT WHEN I CALL?

CBC tracks members vs. boats to ensure we do not have too little boats for too many members.  CBC adds boats as members are welcomed.  By tracking the usage of the boats by type and by location, CBC can determine the boats that are most popular so when a boat must be added, it is the right boat and is added to the right location.

 WHAT DO I PAY FOR WHEN I BOAT EACH TIME?

Only the fuel you consume.  Upon arrival, the boat is clean, topped with fuel, and ready to go.  When you return to the docks, the dock staff will refuel the boat for you and you then pay the marina.  CBC even takes care of the cleaning of the vessel upon your return to the docks.

ARE THE BOATS WELL MAINTAINED?

Absolutely, in fact, all boats are inspected weekly by the CBC dock staff using a 50 point checklist of safety equipment, hull condition, electronics, and general mechanical items.  CBC takes care of regular scheduled maintenance like oil changes, out drive services, hull cleaning, and annual bottom painting.  All US Coast Guard required safety equipment including flares, horn, and approved floatation devices are on board each boat.  CBC also includes an anchor, VHF radio, and any lines and bumpers needed.

CAN I PICK UP A BOAT EARLY OR USE THE BOATS AFTER HOURS?

Yes.  Communication is key.  Requests for extended hours should be made to the dock master the day of the reservation and early pickup requests should be made the day prior to a reservation. Extended hours and overnight requests are granted at the sole discretion of the dock master. No more than 30% of our fleet can be out after hours/overnight at a time. Extended hours and overnight usages are a privilege and therefore not guaranteed. Additional training is also required prior to boating early or after hours.  BOATING AT NIGHT IS NOT ALLOWED.

 CAN I USE THE BOATS FOR AN OVERNIGHT OUTING?

Yes.  Some restrictions may apply depending on the vessel’s availability the following day.  Simply communicate your intentions with the dock master.  Boats should be docked at a fixed location during periods of darkness.

 IS INSURANCE INCLUDED WITH MEMBERSHIP?

Insurance is included.  CBC maintains insurance that covers vessels, members, and guests.  If an incident occurs, the member is responsible for damages up to the deductible amount of $2500.

 WHAT IF I DAMAGE A PROPELLER WHILE BOATING?

You pay for the repair or replacement of the propeller plus the labor to change the part.  The dock staff will produce an invoice that will be sent to you for payment.

 WHAT IF THE BOAT FAILS WHILE I AM BOATING?

CBC provides towing coverage on all vessels during “business hours.”  The towing contact information is located on all boats.

 I AM MILITARY, WHAT IF I GO OUT OF TOWN FOR DUTY?

CBC understands the unpredictable life of our military.  If the military orders you for out of town duty for more than 60 days, CBC will place membership on hold until return.  The member is responsible to communicate departure and return dates so an addendum can be executed.

 WILL MY DUES INCREASE YEAR TO YEAR?

No.  Dues are locked in for the term of membership.

 WHAT IF I REFER A FRIEND OR NEIGHBOR TO CAREFREE BOAT CLUB?

Referrals are always appreciated.  Members that refer a new member receive $300 that is applied towards the member’s account offsetting their annual dues.  So, telling people about the Club is a win-win for everyone.  You get cash and with more members, come more boats.  More boats for you.
