Carefree Boat Club is committed to the highest level of quality and attention to detail. Our mission is to serve our members with excellence and help make many wonderful memories on the water. In this blog post, we would like to share some handy tips that our wonderful Dock Staff has come up with to make your outings even more hassle free!
.) Carefully check your prop before you leave the dock and when you return to the dock – always know the condition of your boat.
.) Always scan the water for floating debris while you’re boating – just because you can’t see a log or debris it doesn’t mean that you’re free and clear.
.) Ideal cruising speed for maximum boat performance is 3,200 to 3,500 RPMs depending on the type of boat – this will make your gas usage most efficient as well.
.) If you have any special requests for your boat before your arrival, please feel free to call the dock directly. You can also put a note in your reservation on Resnet.
.) Before leaving the dock, please make sure your drive trim is all the way down.
.) If you’re boating from a new location, please tell the dock staff.
.) If you want to make a “Spur of the Moment” reservation, just call the dock directly within 48-hours of your outing. Also if you need to cancel your boat for whatever reason (even if the weather looks bad and it seems obvious) call the dock within 48 hours or go on-line to cancel.
.) If you have extended boating hours, upon returning to the dock, please make sure that the battery is turned “Off” and the boat is securely tied to the dock.
.) Always carry your Boat Safety Card when you are boating. Harbor Patrol and the Coast Guard require this (just like a divers licence).
.) If you use the head in a boat, please remember to pump-out and avoid a fee.
Also, check out the Dock Staff’s customized map for “Things to do, Sites to See, and General Boating Tips.” This clever guide will familiarize you with the waterways, danger zones, fueling and pump-out stations.
