In Seattle and other major cities around the nation, the sharing economy is driving daily life – pretty literally, what with Uber, Car2Go and ZipCar. You can trade belongings with people in your neighborhood through services like Buy Nothing. You can stay almost anywhere in the world with AirBnB. And now you can share a fleet of boats via Carefree Boat Club!
The Next Evolution in the Seattle Sharing Economy
Carefree Boat Club works a lot like a membership to a gym. Pay a one-time enrollment fee and monthly dues, and you have unlimited access to any boat in the entire club. For hard-working Seattleites balancing jobs at the likes of Amazon, Microsoft, and Facebook with family and fun, it’s a great way to get on the water without having to worry about the maintenance, cleaning, and other daily tasks and expenses associated with boat ownership. You can enjoy sailing Elliott Bay, wakeboarding on Lake Washington or fishing – and all you have to do is make your reservation online and then show up at the dock. Or if you get a last-minute inspiration, simply call to see if a boat is available.
Once you arrive, our staff helps you load up and cast off. When you return, leave the boat and we’ll manage the clean-up. If you’re new to boating, we’ll teach you everything you need to know, on each and every boat in our fleet, at no extra charge. We help ensure that you and your family will have a fun and safe experience.
Today, we have a Ranger 26’ sailboat and a Glacier Bay 2690, with three additional boats arriving in March, including a cabin cruiser, wake sports boat, and pontoon boat. Our fleet will grow as our membership grows, so you always have access to the boat you want. In fact, you could boat hundreds of days per year if you want!
