Take time at Tybee
Just 30 minutes from Downtown Savannah, a carefree and quirky seaside community awaits with beckoning beaches anchored by an alluring lighthouse and a sea of casual coastal shops filled with everything from aquatic art to colorful clothing. Named one of “The South’s Best” by Southern Living, Tybee Island is a must-see gem on the Georgia coast and easily accessible by boat from The Landings.

On Strand Avenue, across the street from the ever-popular South Beach, Fannie’s on the Beach awaits! The epitome of lighthearted and loveable cuisine, the proudly pink Fannie’s is celebrating 25 years of fun, food, and spirits on Tybee. The eatery boasts an eclectic menu of fabulous fare perfect for the beach. Sandwiches, salads, seafood, hand-tossed pizzas, and steaks are a few favorites, and their famous Bloody Marys—repeatedly voted the best on the island—are incredible with their weekend brunch. On Tybee’s perpetually sunny days, there’s nothing like enjoying some of Fannie’s great food from the second floor, or drinks from their third-floor balcony bar while watching the sunset over the Atlantic.

But, at our club, the members generally cruise over to AJ’s Dock Side restaurant on Chimney Creek. It’s only a 40-minute cruise by boat and has become our members’ most popular waterside destination on Tybee Island.
On the charts, leaving Landings Harbor, through the Marsh along the Tybee Cut, up the Bull River and three clicks to starboard up Lazaretto Creek to Chimney Creek and, Voila, you will find the docks at AJ’s. Great service, typical dockside menu, beverages of choice and lots of dining inside and out. You know you’re among friends when you are at AJ’s.
Recently, 24 members took three boats and enjoyed the cruise and the luncheon on a beautiful sunny afternoon. We filmed it and have made it available for you to get a little taste of what Carefree at The Landings is doing as a social group.
