The mission of Carefree Boat Club is to create lifelong memories for our members by providing a boating experience that is fun, easy, and safe through boat safety training, quality maintenance, excellent customer service, and unsurpassed industry knowledge.
With that mission in mind, we would like to inform you of the steps we are taking in response to the COVID-19 Coronavirus.
We are monitoring the information and guidance produced by the World Health Organization (WHO) and the Center for Disease Control (CDC). Our primary concern is to ensure the safety of you, your families, and our staff. Ironically, we feel that the service we provide has never been more needed and it’s important to us to find a way to keep our members on the water (safely) and keep our staff employed.
With that said, we have implemented some extra precautions and remain committed to serving you. At the same time, it is also important to note that Gov. Inslee and the CDC strongly suggest that everyone stays at home during this time, especially people over the age of 60 and people who are immune-compromised.
Currently, we have implemented the following:
Sanitation of boats: We are in accordance with the CDC guidelines on disinfecting procedures. Cleaning boats before each outing has always been our policy, but we now disinfect every surface as well.
Sanitation of facilities: While we ensure our office space and other facilities are regularly cleaned and disinfected, we are asking members to head directly to their boat for reservations. Staff can collect life jackets or other needed items from the office to avoid gatherings in that space.
Additional Staff Training: We have briefed and instructed staff to avoid physical contact (handshakes, etc.) and take breaks to wash their hands frequently. Staff members are also instructed not to come to work if they are experiencing any flu-like symptoms.
What we ask of our members:
– If you aren’t feeling well, please stay home.
– Please avoid physical contact with staff and tablets during check-out/check-in.
– We adjusted Resnet to allow one reservation per boat per day (all day reservations only) to stagger departure/return times and to create extra time for our staff to disinfect boats before and after each use. Please adjust your departure and return times accordingly!
– One household per boat, 6 people max.
– Please do not use head compartments.
– Berths and galleys on platinum boats will be off-limits during this time, and we are temporarily disabling overnight usage.
As we all know this is an evolving situation, and we will communicate any changes as they occur. With all the negative news everywhere, we feel we are in a unique position to allow our members a source of FUN and connection during this challenging time, while still maintaining proper social distancing practices.
Studies have shown being on the water brings vast cognitive, psychological, and social health benefits, and we remain committed to providing the very best experience for our members now and always. We are offering amazing discounts on unlimited memberships during this crisis to give more families the opportunity to destress and connect on the water. Please feel free to call with any questions!
