August was an exciting month for some of our staff members, as they competed with the Carolina Show Ski Team at the National Show Ski Tournament in Warsaw, Indiana! Our very own Morgan Nelson, Hudson Fox, and Van Jantzen went to compete. Morgan competed in the individual 180 swivel division finishing in the top 50% in 7th place, Hudson placed 5th in Individual Freestyle Jump, and Van and Hudson placed 2nd for Team Jump! Hudson was part of the team “Jump 2” winning the highest score for a show’s jump act.

As the summer season draws to a close, we want to extend our heartfelt gratitude to every one of you for being a part of our boating community. Your enthusiasm, camaraderie, and love of the water have made this summer an unforgettable one! At the Club, we constantly strive to provide the best possible boating experiences for our members. We genuinely value your feedback and insights, as they are essential to shaping the future of our club and ensuring we continue to meet and exceed your expectations. Fill out our End of Summer Survey, here.
We are running a Back to School Special for our members. If you refer any of your friends or family members to join the club during September, you’ll receive a free month of club dues instead of a fuel credit! Please reach out to our membership director, Ryan Blythe, for more information about the special. He can be reached by email, [email protected]
As we move into the fall months, it’s important to note that the sun is setting earlier, requiring all boats to return to the docks by sunset. We’ll make sure to remind you of the return time at the dock. All the club boats will be fully operational and available to book on ResNet until December 1st!
Please be aware that Duke Energy lowers the lake around this time every year so places you did not have to worry about depth before might be shallower in the next few weeks. Keep an eye on your depth gauge!
Member Contests
We value and welcome all engagement in the Facebook group! We extended the video contest throughout August, and we are excited to reveal the winner. Drum roll please… Jeanne Fitzgerald! Woohoo, Thank you so much for participating! You can check out the video, here.

Spotlight
We’re thrilled to showcase our very first member spotlight, featuring Kate Wolff, a valued member for eight and a half years! Kate’s love for water and adventure aligns perfectly with the club. “We enjoy getting to take little mini vacations every week out there,” Kate said. When she isn’t taking advantage of the club boats she spends her time doing anything involving dogs, especially hiking! Kate owns a dog-walking and pet-sitting company, K8’s K-9 Club, servicing central Charlotte neighborhoods. She even had all four of her dogs out on the club boat when she had her engagement photoshoot on the lake!
Kate’s ideal day at the club is getting to enjoy a peaceful swim in the lake whenever the mood strikes. “There’s nothing like floating in the summer sun with a fruity drink in hand.” (We couldn’t agree more!) Her favorite boats in the fleet include the pontoons because there is so much room for friends. “We love everyone who works here, especially Jorge! It’s like a family and we feel so loved every time we step on that dock.” Kate expressed. Thank you for participating in our member spotlight. We are excited to see you and your pups out on the docks soon!
If you are interested in participating in our Spotlight during the upcoming months please fill out this short questionnaire, here. Your participation is greatly appreciated!

A boat driving safety tip! When you are approaching waves it is best to hit them at a 45-degree angle because it will keep the propeller underwater, reduce pounding, and provide a safer and more comfortable ride. If winds are picking up and a storm is coming it is best to head directly into the wind.
