Events At The Club
Our Holiday Party will be on Sunday, December 10th from 1 to 4 pm at the Port City Club! If you have not already, please RSVP here. We will continue our tradition of filling up boxes for Operation Christmas Child. If you would like to participate, please bring toys, school supplies, or personal care items for the children in need!
We are participating in the Lake Wylie Boat Parade on December 16th at 5 pm this year! The parade will begin at Papa Docs and can be viewed there and surrounding areas. With colorful lights and decorations, this is an event that your family and friends won’t want to miss! Spend the night watching the boats parade through the lake, enjoying music and hot drinks, and celebrating the holidays in style.
Here is a hint for our theme; who can guess it?
Member Housekeeping
Starting today, please make all your reservations by texting the dock phone directly. Since the winter months are slower, please try to give at least a 24-hour notice before you would like to go out!
Before your upcoming reservations, we’ll reach out to verify you are still planning to go out. Regardless of the weather conditions, rain or shine! This way, we can ensure that our employees are prepared and available accordingly.
Spotlight
Carolyn Johnson has been an integral part of the Carefree team for two years and seven months, but her journey with the club began as a member five years before! Transitioning from a devoted member to her role as office manager was a natural fit. She finds joy in the duality of perspectives—experiencing the club as a member and now contributing behind the scenes action.
Carolyn’s passion for the club is evident she says the hardest thing about her job is “Talking about Carefree, how it works, and the benefits of a boat club versus owning a boat without it sounding like a ‘sales pitch’. I then feel like I have to convince the listener that I am just telling the truth & I am NOT selling anything.” She feels fortunate to work for a company she adores, surrounded by like-minded individuals.
When it comes to her favorite boats, Carolyn has a soft spot for Aqua Office, with its spacious table and seating, and Vitamin Sea, with its step-down front seating area. Her favorite memories at work include the Baxter festivals, where she enjoys the laughter and meeting new people. Her decision to work at Carefree stemmed from her genuine love for the club as a member!
Beyond work, Carolyn loves to watch the Lake Norman sunsets with her dog, Callie, and neighbors. She also enjoys exploring local breweries across North Carolina with friends!
