Happy November, members! All of our outboard boats are open for reservations.
We’re excited to announce that together, we filled four large boxes with essentials for those in need across Western North Carolina! Plus, with $500 raised by our incredible members and our match, we proudly sent $1,000 to the Wild Abundance Disaster Relief Fund to support the surrounding areas of Asheville. Thank you to everyone who helped make a difference!

With the time change this Sunday, please remember to check return times for all afternoon reservations. All boats will need to be docked approximately 15 minutes before sunset. To ensure you have the most up-to-date information, check with the dock staff.
Before your upcoming reservations, please expect a text from the dock phone to confirm you are still planning to go out. Regardless of the weather conditions, rain or shine! This way, we can ensure that our employees are prepared and available accordingly.
Beginning December 1st, you won’t be able to reserve boats via ResNet until spring. To reserve a boat during this time, simply text the dock phone with a minimum of 24 hours’ notice, and we’ll take care of the rest!

Meet Braden Baer, a familiar face on the docks who’s been with Carefree for five years! Braden is all about connecting with members who share his love of the water, which he says is the best part of the job. “Being around people who are as excited about boating as I am—it just doesn’t get old,” he says.
His favorite in the fleet? Fishful Thinking, a boat that he’s come to know well over the years. One of his standout memories from work was early on when he got caught in a major storm on his second day. It was a wild experience, but one he looks back on as a reminder of the unexpected (and sometimes unpredictable) nature of life on the lake.
Braden came to Carefree with a simple goal: to spend more time on the water, drive boats, and work outside. When he’s not on the lake, Braden is a guitar player, enjoys fishing with his brother, and hanging out with friends. A perk of working at the club is the employee parties—an opportunity to connect with teammates and relax together after a busy season.
If you spot Braden on the dock, don’t hesitate to wave hello!
