Just because it’s getting colder outside doesn’t mean the boating fun has to slow down! As the weather transitions into fall, it opens up a whole new world of boating experiences. It’s the perfect time to cast a line for some fishing, go sailing, or simply cruise around to watch the leaves change colors.

Events At The Club

A big thank you to our members who joined us at McLean Marina in Belmont for our End of Summer Social! If you did not make it, check out our recap video from the day here. We hope to see you all at our next Member Social! 

We will be at a few festivals around town during the month of October; stop by and see us! On October 14th, join us at the Catawba Fest in Tega Cay from 10 am to 6 pm, and on October 21st, join us at the Baxter Festival from 12 pm to 6 pm.

The Catawba Fest will feature an arts and crafts show, an eating contest, a free kid’s zone and entertainment locally and across the region. Holiday shopping begins at 10am with a grand market featuring artisans and crafters selling handmade jewelry, wood art, unique gifts, and home décor. The Baxter Village Fall Festival will begin at 12pm, featuring 125+ artisans/crafts vendors, live entertainment stage, music, food/beverages, games, prizes and more!

Member Housekeeping

Rest assured, the club will be fully operational until December 1st! Even during the winter months leading up to spring, you won’t miss out on any boating adventures. You still have access to the outboard boats— please text the dock phone to make reservations after December 1st.

As we move into the fall months, it’s important to note that the sun sets earlier, requiring all boats to return to the docks by sunset. We’ll remind you of the return time before you leave on your boat outing.

Spotlight

In this month’s spotlight we’re excited to feature the Feaser family! Todd, Felicia, and their 3-year-old daughter, Everly, joined the club in July 2023. Their experience with Carefree Boat Club has been nothing short of great. They find it challenging to pick a just one favorite aspect of the club as everything has been outstanding. The dock staff, top-notch facilities, and consistently available boats have made their time with us truly enjoyable. However, what stands out most for them is the diverse range of boats we offer catering to their various preferences, whether its skiing, tubing, cruising, or anchoring down.

  When it comes to favorite boats, preferences vary within the family. Todd and Felicia are drawn to the thrill of “Nacho Boat” at Belmont, whereas Everly can’t get enough of the slide boats. One of their most cherished memory at the club involves Felicia’s twin sister, Alicia, and her three daughters. The family, having recently faced a difficult loss, found comfort and joy in the boating experience, rekindling smiles and creating beautiful memories together.

For Todd and Felicia, joining Carefree Boat Club was a natural choice. Todd’s childhood spent waterskiing on Smith Mountain Lake in Virginia, and Felicia’s newfound love for lake life after an adventurous first date flipping a jetski, fueled their love for the water and wanting to share that with Everly. Both Todd and Felicia work at Fox Sports in Charlotte, with Todd serving as a Director of Photography, managing multi-cam feature shoots for NASCAR Race Hub and RaceDay on Fox. And Felicia supervises scheduling for Post-Production and manages various editing and audio design teams for major sports events.

 Outside the club and boating, Todd enjoys volunteering his photography skills, video games, and passionately supports Nebraska Cornhusker football. Felicia dedicates her free time to the gym, video editing for the family, and the everyday adventures of being a mom, which often involves a fair share of cleaning. 

Todd, Felicia, and Everly, thank Carefree Boat Club for making 2023 an unforgettable summer and the wonderful memories on the water!
