We operate at The Marina at Rocketts Landing located near downtown Richmond on the beautiful and historic James River. Richmond is said to be one of the best cities in the country for outdoor activities. In fact, Richmond is the only major city in the US with class 4 and 5 rapids running through it. Rocketts Landing is below the city and the impressive Richmond city skyline is within view.
Marina Amenities
Rocketts Landing is a mixed-use property created to be a great place to work, live and play. With unique multi-level townhomes, high-end office space, boutique shops, art galleries, riverfront restaurants, and a quality marina, Rocketts has pulled together Richmond’s rich history, the outdoors and family entertainment. Area Attractions
Most members from Rocketts venture down river to find wider parts of the river or coves to explore or tube with the kids. Freshwater fishing is rather popular on the upper James and members report catching catfish, bass, and trout. Some historic sites can be seen from the James River such as old civil war docks, ramparts, and river plantations dating back to the mid 1700s.
On land from the marina, you will find restaurants, shopping, and other activities all within walking distance. For casual dining and live music, visit The Conch Republic, a local hot spot regularly showcasing area talent and offering a versatile menu. For fine dining or special events, the Boathouse at Rocketts Landing is revered among locals for its cuisine and atmosphere.
With so much to see and do, will you find time to also visit the retail shops and art galleries close by? In addition, the Rocketts waterfront is consistently the venue for family fun events thoughout the year like vintage boat regattas, fireworks displays, festivals, etc.
Our Boats
The fleet includes a variety of pontoon, fishing, watersport, cruising, and family boats for you to enjoy. Variety is indeed the spice of life! The fleet is maintained to a high standard of cleanliness and functionality. Most of our boats are equipped with GPS chart plotters to make exploring the river a little easier and safer.
All boats have a waterway chart, a VHF marine radio, and all USCG required safety equipment on board. This season, we will add a large 33′ luxury cruiser to the Rocketts Landing fleet and will create an exclusive level of membership called the Commodores Club. This level will be limited to experienced and trained members and will include no more than fifteen authorized members.
