Kings Point is also our primary sailing location, and membership includes instruction from a licensed captain and expert sailing instructor. Fall and winter are the prime sailing months, when the wind is steady and the lake feels like your private playground. So, whether you have never stood up on a board or you want to learn to sail, our team is here to help you enjoy the water. Spend any time at Kings Point Marina and you will almost certainly meet Dan Haggerty, the owner of Carefree Boat Club of Charlotte. Not only is Dan the owner, he first joined the Carefree Boat Club family as a member of this club over ten years ago. If you want to know where to go on Lake Norman, chances are Dan has the answer. And, most of the members of the team have spent years on the lake and on the Carefree dock - either as members or on the dock staff team - often both! We are here to help you load the boat and push off on your adventure, and greet you when you return with a friendly smile and guidance as you slide back into the slip. A Lake Norman boat club membership at Kings Point works at all four greater Charlotte, NC locations across Lake Norman, Lake Wylie, and Lake Hickory. Four docks, a variety of boats and endless adventures. Members also have reciprocal access at more than 140 Carefree Boat Club locations in the U.S., Canada and beyond. Most new members are out on the water within days of joining. Book your reservations online or hit the dock phone for a last-minute boat when the time allows. Our strict member-to-boat ratio of 10 to 1 club-wide ensures you are on the water, not a waitlist.
