As adults, however, we can’t help but see the flaws celebrating this way, including all the calories that are consumed during this venture. Pumpkin Spice Lattes are the drink of the season and somehow, they just taste better when enjoyed behind the helm of a boat speeding off into open seas. Stanley Thermos’s are popular once again, so brew up your special treat and pour it into your new thermos or stop in your favorite coffee shop on the way to the dock, and sip and savor as you explore the waters that surround San Diego. While not exactly a Halloween activity, this beverage does represent fall and all that the season means, so go ahead and drink it down!
Costumed Skippers Are Welcome
The best part of adulthood relies on letting the child inside you out to play every so often, so if you want to wear a costume during your San Diego Halloween expedition, feel free to do just that! To be honest, we would love to see the reaction of fellow boaters when you skim by wearing your favorite Freddie Kruger costume, but if you want to stick with the boating theme, why not wear a sailor costume while riding the waves for a fun twist on the traditional Halloween costume.

Zip on over to Belmont Park to explore the beauty of the Halloween Car Show being held there on October 29th or choose to feast on a seafood meal at Bluewater Boathouse Seafood Grill, located on Coronado Island and offering the perfect space to dock and dine for the holiday. There will be a large selection of pub crawls going on throughout San Diego, but if you are boating, drinking is definitely discouraged for your safety and all the other boaters out on the sea. SeaWorld’s Howl-O-Scream is destined to be your children’s favorite Halloween activity and your boat will make the perfect limousine for a day of fun and sea creatures! If you aren’t sure you are willing to skip trick or treating, you still have options that will allow you to Halloween aboard your Carefree Boat Club vessel of choice. You can rise early and plan on being home in time for the first doorbell ring or, if you have children, you can take them trick or treating on India Street on October 27th, leaving the holiday open for you to explore the open seas! Trick-or-Treat on India Street is a fun and safe begging experience and if you feel like exploring what’s inside the shops that are handing out candy, there’s nothing stopping you!
Halloween Fishing
While your family in the Midwest may be beginning the descent into winter weather (yes, even in October!) San Diego offers beautiful weather year-round and fishing is a popular fall activity and when you grill the catch of the day for your Halloween feast, you can feel better about all the candy you may be sneaking from your tiny goblin’s bags after they have fallen asleep! April through October is actually the high season of deep sea fishing but on this last day of the last month of the season, you may find yourself one of the few fishermen (or women) trawling for scrumptious sea creatures! Tuna and Marlin migrate through the region during this time of the year, so who knows? You may even catch yourself a trophy fish to help remind you of the wonderful year you skipped the costumes (or not!) and did something that was 100% for your enjoyment!
