It’s no wonder so many people hang holiday lights. From the rainbow of colors to the twinkling, flickers and glimmers, holiday lights are beautiful. And there are many ways to enjoy them in Annapolis this season.
- If you’ve always wanted to see holiday lights from above, consider the Holiday Lights Helicopter Tour. For 35 minutes at $525 you’ll be treated to an aerial view of the “Lights on the Bay” at Sandy Point State Park, fly over the gleaming sailboats in “Ego Alley” and soar over brightly lit neighborhoods. In short, you’ll see “the holiday lights the way Santa does.” Tours are from 4:30 pm-8:30 pm nightly until December 30th, so book your flight today!
- If boating is your preferred method of holiday lights viewing then consider the Jolly Express Cruises offered by Cruises on the Bay by Watermark. Santa captains the Miss Anne around Spa Creek while you sit back, sip on hot cocoa (provided) and express wonder and awe at the shimmer and sparkle! Adult tickets are $23 and tickets for children under age 13 are $13. Reserve your spot today!
- If you’d rather stick to land, take a 2 mile drive at Sandy Point State Park and view the Anne Arundel Medical School’s 21st annual Lights on the Bay. With over 70 displays (including animated), everyone in the car will be enchanted! You can visit any day of the week, including holidays, between 5 p.m.-10 p.m. Cars are $15, mini-buses and trolleys are $30 and buses are $50.
- And of course, take your own tour! If you’re a member of Nextdoor you can view the lights displays of private residences. Read this blog for more information! Or make some hot chocolate, put on a warm coat and gloves and take a stroll around your neighborhood!
