Welcome back boaters! What a gorgeous time of year in East Tennessee this is, one we have the privilege of enjoying. Tourists travel from far and wide to catch a glimpse of the trademark changing of season in the Appalachians. We got lucky, right in our backyard is lavishly colorful mountain scenery, and boaters with the Carefree Boat Club will tell you the best seat in the house is the captain’s chair on a boat (or on a tube if you happen to be crazy like that)!
To head us off today, we have a fun fact to share. Did you know the temperature of South Holston Lake is warmer on Halloween than on Memorial Day? Crazy right? If you don’t believe us, find out for yourself! Maybe you have already tucked away your lake gear, or you are putting off the idea of the Carefree Boat Club until spring…but why wait? There are still plenty of weeks with weather conducive to taking advantage of the most beautiful time of year in East Tennessee, which means more than enough time to let us show you around one of our three home marinas. Not only can you get a front-row vantage to leaf-watching, the temperatures are mild, the water is calmer and much less crowded, and the need to constantly reapply sunscreen decreases significantly! So let’s go! Grab a scratch-made pizza from Lakeview Dock, some ice cream from Rockingham Marina, or your favorite drink from Lakeshore Marina and make it a day to remember.
Abolishing the myth that autumn weather and boating are mutually exclusive is nothing short of tricky, but we are fortunate to live in an area in which enjoying the season is practically irresistible. Don’t wait until spring to consider joining us this season-own the fun this fall-the Carefree Way!
