Whether it’s the salty sea breezes of the coast or the calmness of an inland lake, boating is in your blood. When you’re done swimming and lounging in the sun on shore, you want to get out and do some fishing, water skiing, tubing, or other activity that takes you to more than a few yards from shore then join a boat club in San Diego.
Immediate Access
Bringing your own boat along on your boating vacation is a hassle. You have to get it ready to go, tow it, put it in the water, and then find a place to store the trailer. Unless you’ve reserved a slip several weeks or months in advance, you may be waiting quite a while to dock, too. Renting the boat can take time and effort as well. With a membership to our San Diego club, you’ll have a boat and a dedicated slip for the entire duration of your vacation. Your boat will be exactly where you left it, day in and day out.
Not only will you have immediate access, making reservations is a breeze. You can rent just about any type of boat with just a few clicks online. Unlike other slip rentals where you’ll have to make plans well in advance, you can make your reservation with us just a day or two before your estimated arrival.
Storage and Transportation
While owning your own vessel and storing it in your home garage may seem simple, you still have to hook it up and transport it to the site of your next adventure. You may look into renting a slip at a local marina, only to be the next entry on a miles-long waiting list. Once you’re docked, the boat is out of sight, out of mind, and you may not enjoy a boating vacation as much as you thought you would.
Avoid both situations when you join a boat club in San Diego. You won’t have the hassle of transporting the vessel, nor the worry about storing it.
Cost
After the purchase of your vessel, fees begin to pile up. Insurance, license, registration, maintenance and repair, dock and/or storage fees, transportation costs, and more. Some rental slips are owned by private owners, and there may be blackout dates on your favorite location, causing you to look elsewhere and run into higher fees.
A one-time up-front fee, and a flat annual fee thereafter with Carefree Boat Club takes care of it all.
Education and Safety
When you purchase your own vessel, that purchase may not come with the education and safety training you need. Boat retailers don’t require you to demonstrate knowledge or show a safety permit before handing you the keys. Carefree Boat Club offers the required know-how and safety education so you can boat the waters of San Diego safely.
From backing out of the marina slip to your adventure at sea and pulling back into the slip at the end of the day, you need to know how to operate your vessel safely and legally. State or local laws also require operators of a certain age to hold a boating certificate prior to operating the vessel. Your Carefree Boat Club membership includes teaching this vital information. If necessary, you’ll still need to obtain personal licenses and certificates in accordance with those laws – and our staff can help get you squared away!
Variety of Boats
Buying a boat is a multi-year commitment. The high price tag means you’ll likely be holding on to the vessel for a decade or more. That’s a single vessel for the duration of that time. You’ll be using it for all sorts of purposes, some of which may not be easily accomplished on certain types of vessels.
With a Carefree Boat Club membership, no matter if your favorite vessel is a sailboat, powerboat, or fishing boat, you’ll always have the right vessel and tools for your boating adventure. If you feel “the need for speed” on Friday but want to slow things down with a leisurely sail or fishing excursion on Sunday, your membership allows you to make the change quickly and seamlessly. A large fleet of all types of boats at our San Diego club gives you access to the vessel that suits your needs whenever you need it.
Updated Stock
Going hand-in-hand with boat variety, you can be rest assured each vessel is safe, well-maintained, and up to date to the latest standards and boating technology. You’ll have access to the best of the best whenever you board one of our vessels. Your membership fee goes toward maintaining our current fleet to safe, clean, and proper working standards when you arrive, as well as toward the purchase of the best and newest boats the industry has to offer.
