While 2020 becomes history and 2021 the new precedent, ordinary forms of celebration have gone by the wayside and in its place is left time. Time for reflection on one of the most distinctive and rudderless twelve months yet. Twenty-twenty embodied a year of pain and damaging loss, both ambition and tradition taking the backseat to a global health crisis, and in retrospect, a lot of things were missing from our lives; a sense of unity, tight hugs from our loved ones, and across the board a grey emptiness where color and joy once thrived. Finding consistency in a protean year seems as a lost cause does, but the Carefree Boat Club has been abundantly fortunate in our ability to steadily offer those we care about a safe and considerate way to be together, a spacious and private venue to enjoy – in every season.
Unless you enjoy hypothermia, spending time on the lake in the chillier months does not really have bathing suits and tubing in the equation. However, packing up mittens and warm blankets, board games and hot cocoa, and grabbing your family is a sweet means to enjoy good company and a change of scenery. The Carefree Boat Club has a watercraft fit to your every whim, and a game night is no exception. A spacious and comfort-engineered pontoon boat, equipped with fold-away tables to host the cards and secure the hot cocoa is available at your leisure, ready at a lake nearest you. This new year is special, because it means space for new traditions and ways to spend time together.
Though stepping into a fresh year does not instantly turn the grey to technicolor, a unique opportunity is presented to choose love and joy to fill the missing spaces. Yes, 2020 had absences, especially in the weeks of quarantine, and our families have spent many nights around our kitchen tables instead of in restaurants with friends, but we have learned a thing or two along the way. Below we have linked a few of our favorite family-friendly board games which we hope you can enjoy, and use to help make new memories this year-on a boat!
