About Ossipee Lake
Formerly operated as Ossipee Lake Marina, Goodhue Boat Company on Ossipee Lake is nestled on Broad Bay in Freedom, NH. Conveniently located near Route 16, our Ossipee location is close to attractions of all kinds - from hiking trails, campgrounds, restaurants, and shopping, there’s something for everyone to enjoy. If you have to start your morning off with a coffee and a great breakfast, be sure to stop by Rosie’s in Tamworth! It’s less than 15 minutes away, and it’s the best breakfast you’ll ever have. You can also take a drive to North Conway and shop at the Settlers Green outlets, with so many popular stores like Nike, Columbia, and more. While you’re there, don’t forget to check out White Mountain Cupcakery for the most amazing, sweet treats you can get your hands on.
If you’re hoping for a more local shopping experience, Freedom Village Store and Freedom House Antiques are for you! Freedom Village Store has a wide range of products to browse, from jewelry to home décor, to snacks and baked goods. Freedom House Antiques is an adorable eclectic shop with tons of unique finds to treasure! The Ossipee Lake area is home to some amazing restaurants. The Spot is a great place to stop for some delicious pizza and subs if you’re wanting a more casual dining experience. If you’re a seafood person, you’ll want to stop at Jake’s Seafood right on Route 16 for a delicious meal! Hobbs Tavern, located just a few miles away, is a great stop for some comfort food. Don’t leave without trying their cheese curds – you won’t regret it. Hobbs also has a tap room located ten miles from the Tavern that offers a great selection of their craft beer brewed right in Ossipee, NH. They feature food trucks all summer long and have tons of entertainment. Be sure to swing by there for some fun! No trip to Ossipee Lake is complete without a stop at Pizza Barn, which was featured on the show Phantom Gourmet on the Food Network. The best part of dinner is dessert, and Bobby Sue’s Homemade Ice Cream is the spot to go! Their ice cream – just like they say – is homemade and the best ice cream you’ll ever have! While you’re out on the lake, we have some awesome spots you may want to stop at. The channel just outside of our location has a sand bar that people enjoy anchoring at to relax. On the main lake, boaters like to anchor at Long Sands as well.
Bear Camp River also has a nice sand bar that is a popular spot. If you need a break from the lake life, you can venture over to Castle in the Clouds in Moultonborough for some breath-taking views and a history lesson or two. If you’re in the mood for some light hiking, you can take a trip over to Abenaki Tower in Melvin Village and head out on a short hike to the top of the tower for some amazing views of the area. Ossipee Pine Barrens Reserve is another great spot for hiking, with 7.5 miles of trails. If you’re looking for an evening experience, our locations in Wolfeboro and Meredith host some exciting free events all summer long, such as Ladies Surf Nights where you can learn how to wake surf with our team of experienced instructors. We also host Foil Nights, which allows us to teach a small group how to use a Fliteboard efoil, at our Ossipee, Wolfeboro, and Meredith locations. If you are interested in any of these events that we host, you can sign up at goodhueboat.com. Freedom and the surrounding towns near Ossipee Lake have something for everyone, regardless of their age (or even if they’re furry and have four legs!). We can’t wait to get you out on the water for a great lake life experience!
