About Carefree Boat Club –  Marina del Ray

Carefree Boat Club is opening a new location at Marina del Ray in Los Angeles!

Marina del Ray

Marina del Ray is located between Venice Beach and Playa del Ray on the west side of Los Angeles. The idea for this beautiful waterfront facility was originally developed in 1949 by the Army Corps of Engineers and was first intended to moor over 8,000 small craft boats! Years later in 1954, President Dwight D. Esinhower signed a law naming Marina del Ray an authorized federal project. Upon completion in 1962, challenging waters and storms tested the marina and a jetty was built that still protects the area to this day!

Marina del Ray translates to “Harbor of the king” which perfectly describes this beautiful resort area. Restaurants & fine dining, shopping, tourist attractions, entertainment and hotels all surround this luxurious marina making it a top vacation destination.
