Dust off your favorite Hawaiian shirt and get ready to kick off the 2026 boating season in style. We are thrilled to invite you to the Carefree Boat Club Season Kickoff Luau!

This is our way of saying mahalo to all our amazing members and celebrating the start of an incredible summer on the water. Bring your appetite, your family, and your readiness for a great time.
Here is what we have planned for the afternoon:
– Traditional Pig Roast: We’re going all out with a full, authentic pig roast and all the island sides.
– Live Steel Drums: Jaimie Shores will be bringing ‘That Island Sound’ with an authentic steel pan from Trinidad.
– Drinks on us: The tiki bar is open! Enjoy complimentary drinks while you mingle.
– Meet the Crew: Come hang out, talk boats, and get to know the dock staff, the management team, and the new owner.
Date: Saturday, May 2nd
Time: 1:00 PM – 4:00 PM
Location: McLean Marina in Belmont
315-K Lanyard Ln, Belmont, NC 28012
Dress Code: Casual & Tropical! (Hawaiian shirts are highly recommended)
Space is limited so that we can ensure plenty of food and drinks for everyone. Please let us know if you and your crew can make it here.

Your Fleet

To keep our upholstery in excellent condition, please apply spray-on sunscreen before boarding or while on the rear swim platform. The chemicals in many sprays can cause permanent staining or “pink-out” on marine vinyl. We appreciate your help in keeping the fleet pristine for everyone’s enjoyment!

Due to current drought conditions, water levels are up to five feet lower than normal conditions. Areas that were safely navigable last season may now present hazards. Please exercise extreme caution (and reduced speeds) in shallower areas to avoid running aground. Remember that lower unit strikes are the most frequent cause of damage during low-water cycles.

Other News

This time of year brings windy conditions, so please boat with caution. Strong winds can create rough waters and make maneuvering more challenging. For safety, boating will be temporarily suspended if winds reach 12-15 mph until conditions improve. We monitor wind speeds using the Windy App at all our locations. You can download it from the App Store to stay informed!

If you captured any photos or videos during your latest outing, we’d love to see them and potentially share them on our social media!
