Celebrate 4th of July in National City, CA
Celebrate independence with plenty of patriotic fun this 4th of July. Plan a boat trip to the shores of Southern California and National City that includes plenty of fun in the sun and patriotic activities. There will be a number of activities, from carnivals to fireworks and more, to keep everyone happy and busy this National City 4th of July.
National City 4th of July Carnival
The Host Lions Club hosts a 4th of July celebration. Enjoy food, games, rides, and of course, fireworks. The Miss National City Pageant is also part of the festivities.
The event takes place in Kimball Park at 12th & D in National City. This year’s event is July 3-7. Hours are July 3 and 5 from 5-11 p.m., and July 4,6, and 7 1-11 p.m. Fireworks will be at 9 p.m. on July 6.

National City Boat Parade
There is currently no information regarding a 4th of July in National City, CA area boat parade. We’ll have more information closer to the holiday.
Oceanside Fireworks Show
Get a jump on the 4th of July fireworks shows in Oceanside. The town has opted to hold its fireworks display on July 3rd. You can see the fireworks launched from the center of Oceanside – the SoCal Soccer Complex at El Corazon. There will be other family-friendly activities and food trucks starting at 4 p.m. The town lights up the night sky starting at 9 p.m.
Big Bay Boom
It’s the largest and most famous 4th of July event in San Diego County. The annual fireworks show is visible from multiple locations around San Diego Bay. Four barges in North San Diego Bay are the launch pad for the display. Some of the best viewing spots include Shelter Island, Harbor Island, Embarcadero, Marina District, and Coronado Landing, but anywhere along the bay is a great spot. The show starts at 9 p.m. on July 4th.
San Diego County Fair 4th of July Fireworks
Enjoy an eclectic mix of competitions, concerts, carnival rides and games, food, and more in a beachside venue. This year, the fair is going retro! There will be celebrations of different decades and their pop culture, including the ‘50s, ‘60s, ‘70s, ‘80s, and 90s. Fair dates are Wednesday-Sunday, June 12-July 7 – right during your 4th of July retreat. Hours are 11 a.m. – 10 p.m. daily. Get tickets and more information on the fair website. The fair is located at the Del Mar Fairgrounds in Del Mar. The fireworks display starts at 9 p.m. on July 4th.
Independence Day Fireworks Spectacular at SeaWorld
The theme park celebrates 4th of July early, as well as on the day of the holiday. There will be a special Marine Band performance, along with a high-energy bioluminescent percussion show. The show ends with a 15-minute fireworks display set to a musical soundtrack. The fireworks start around 9:30 p.m. The festival takes place June 30-July 4. Historic Old Town Fourth of July
Old Town State Historic Park is the place to be for a traditional 4th of July parade. Floats with patriotic decoration and other traditional parade participants are just one feature of the day. The parade begins at 11 a.m.
In addition to the parade, you’ll be able to experience crafts and other activities that re-create an old-fashioned Independence Day celebration. Other fun events like cherry pit-spitting, and egg toss, and more are available for adults and kids alike. Groove to the music played by the Big Mountain Blue Grass Band. The festivities run until 3 p.m.
Red, White, and Boom!
LEGOLAND California gets into the spirit of the holiday, too. The patriotic holiday event at the resort in Carlsbad is a highlight for park-goers. It’s packed with all-American fun activities, meet and greets with LEGO characters dressed in their patriotic best, and more. Pick up the special glasses that turn the bursts of fireworks into LEGO bricks!Kids will love activities just for them, including lawn and picnic games, a DJ dance party, a building activity, and delicious treats. The celebration is included with a regular park admission ticket.
Scripps Ranch 4th of July Run & Ride
Celebrate and get your exercise at the same time. Dress in your red, white, and blue best and ride or run your way to the finish line. At the end of the race, there’s a celebration in Hoyt Park featuring live bans, a free craft beer garden, bounce house, inflatable slide, face painting, and more. Sign up on the Run Ride website.
